Complete Leon zoning application form, print and meet with the clerk to review.
Based on the Leon Zoning Ordinance, if your zoning request falls under one of the permitted uses for that zoning district, the permit can be written without review by the Planning Commission or the Board.
If the zoning application requires a Conditional Use, an Interim Use or a Variance for that zoning district, further review by the Planning Commission will be necessary and the following steps are needed:
Application for Conditional Use Permits, Interim Use Permits and Variances will need to be brought to the Planning Commission for review. Prior to review:
Chloride Application & Pre-Payment for 2023
The Board voted in 2019 to discontinue chloride procurement and application for Township's residents. Residents must make their own arrangements.
Luhman's Construction has been offering chloride application for rural residents. There may be others. Watch for ads in the Cannon Falls Beacon. Link
Northern Salt Inc does not offering residential chloride application.

Goodhue County ATV Ordinance
You now need a permit from the Sheriff's office to drive your Class I ATV on County roads.
There is no fee and you can apply online. Here is the ATV ordinance, and a link to the ATV Registration process and permit application.
Shoreland Buffer Requirements
Land owners in Leon Township who do not meet the shoreland buffer requirements (less than 50 ft to the high water mark) will receive a letter from the County.
Landowners should contact the County to work out a plan.

2023 Rock Quote
The 2023 Rock quote has been awarded to Anderson Rock & Lime of Cannon Falls. The quote is exclusive to the Township and does not include rock for residents.
Residents who need rock must secure their own rock and will not receive the price quote for the Township.
Meetings are now in-person beginning June 2021.
