You may vote absentee in one of three ways:
1. By mail
2. In person
3. Using a designated agent
By Mail:
1. Obtain an absentee ballot application either by:
1. downloading and printing an application from www.mnvotes.org, or
2. get an application from the County Auditor, or
3. get an application from the Town Clerk
Complete and return the application as soon as possible, either by: Mail, Fax or Scan & e-mail it.
An absentee ballot will be mailed to you as soon as it becomes available. If you're not registered, you will also receive a voter registration application.
1. Follow the instructions. You will need a witness to certify you received a blank ballot and that you marked your ballot in private.
2. Return your absentee ballot materials by Election Day to your local election office
Mail it back, or
Return ballot in person by 5pm the day before the election, or
Ask someone to deliver your ballot before 3pm on Election Day

46-day period before the election
Monday-Friday, during normal business hours
Last Saturday before Election Day (10am-3pm)
Day before Election Day (until 5pm)
If you are not registered, you will need to a picture ID and proof of residence.
Using a Designated Agent.
To use, you must be:
a patient in a health care facility
disabled or have an incapacitating health issue
resident in a group home
resident of a shelter for battered women
resident of an assisted living facility
In the 7 days preceding an election,
1. Ask a person you know to pick up your ballot, and
2. Bring it to you, and
3. Return it to the local election official's office by 3pm on Election Day.
4. You must also complete a form to let local election officials know that you have designated a person as your agent. To obtain a form:
